BALANCE

As God is teaching me BALANCE among other things this season, I decided to write on it, I am not there yet but I trust writing about it and sharing it, we can get there together!!!šŸ’ƒ

What do you think?

So, Have you ever thought about the word BALANCE? What does it mean to you?

Have you been able to create that Balance in your life or you just let life happen?

Creating a balanced life means making time for all the things you have to do, and even things you want to do.

That is, being able to do the things you have to do: Commune with the Father, Ministry, Purpose, Time for spouse and family and also do the things you want to do: Physical fitness, vacation, time outs, and other things on your list!

BALANCE in our lives must exists between time and effort spent working, and time spent with home, family and personal pursuits.

If we do not create balance, one part of our lives will suffer and become deficient; hopefully it’s not one of utmost importance (which one isn’t 🤷)

I have had months that I didn’t have balance in my life and they didn’t feel good; there was NYSC Orientation camp that takes all of your life away from you if you allow it, you might forget to do personal devotion for days, put pause to your relationship because you couldn’t keep the connection, e.t.c

Then there was the period I was an incoming executive into NCCF State exco-ship; the activities, assignment were enormous and any meeting can come up at anytime so, you must learn not to procastinate, to multi-task, prioritize, and schedule to be able to keep up…

These two months were overwhelming till the Holyspirit helped me see it in another light- Learning to create balance!

One or two weeks into the tenure as the State Assistant General Secretary, NCCF BAYELSA, I still didn’t get a balance, I had to sit down with the Holy Spirit, started to know first what I was supposed to be doing, what I should be focusing on at the time- Relationship with God, Family, Relationships and Friendship, Career (PPA, and doing something towards my future career), Physical and Mental health, Assignment- I knew I had to be in NCCF for a certain reason.

I checked for the other activities that I needed to trade off and let go off, then I started Scheduling and Prioritizing! Seeking help when I needed to and settling things in the place of prayer!

For some of us it is Relationship with God, School, Family, friends, having a stable mental and emotional health, be physically fit and maybe business.

For some it includes children coupled with all of these things…

My two coins for you today is
1. If you are in a time where you are not even so overwhelmed yet, start to learn to create balance.

2. If you are in an overwhelmed place already, you need to find balance as soon as possible, take a time out to meditate and find yourself them start again!

HOW CAN YOU FIND BALANCE?

Ways to find balance are not exclusive to this list but this will help,

A. Know that you cannot do everything and you do not have to do everything; By the help of the Holy Spirit and by wisdom knowing what you should trade off and let go of.

B. Having known what things are important to you at the moment and in the season, Start to SCHEDULE

Make out time as fitting into your daily plan, a time for the “Secret Place”, a time you talk to Family and Significant other, Taking a class, time for business, and very importantly- Time to rest!

Don’t put the weight of the world on your head, take time out, pay attention to your health, it is a priority!

C. Learn to say NO
There are things and people you will have to say No to, it doesn’t suit into your current schedule, or there are more important things, please say No!

In a cool way of course, we don’t want to go about fighting people but let them know it’s not something you can do at the moment, maybe another time or maybe neveršŸ˜‚

D. Ask for HELP: Of course from God but also from those around you, learn to delegate and seek help. You do not have to do it all by yourself (This one is definitely for me!!!)

In your business- Delegate,

You need help with your kids- Ask for help!!! Ask your siblings, mother, in-law for help or get a maid for a while if not for a long time or you can even get a cleaner who just comes once in a while to clean and leave just to get a burden off your shoulder for a while!

God would have us prosper all round and be in good health even as our soul prospers…

3 John 1:2

So definitely there is a way out of been overwhelmed and overburdened!

May God help us.
